This week we have been exploring Chinese New Year and how it is celebrated. We began our learning by finding out about China and identifying it on the globe. As part of our learning, we have experienced tasting some different foods, been busy in the finger gym with chop sticks, retold the story of the Great Race using puppets and have explored Chinese text in our mark making. We were invited to vote for a name for the green dragon at the Oriental Museum, Durham University. We counted the votes and the most popular name in Nursery was ‘Fei Fei’ meaning little yummy smells and beautiful green plants. We will follow the voting closely to see if our chosen name won!
